The Top 10 Ways to Beat Anxiety
In a series of posts on the Overcoming Anxiety blog I aim to outline several ways to beat anxiety! I wanted to write something usable for you, so I thought I’d write a little over the next few days about the top 10 ways to beat anxiety that I have used in my life. I know sometimes when you feel at your worst and in the throws of a full blow attack, that doing ‘something’ is the last thing you can imagine helping, but hey believe it or not it can!
Anyway, I am going to get right in there and list my ways to beat anxiety. I will add a new post over the coming days on a different method I have used to beat anxiety, so watch out for those coming up on the Overcoming Anxiety blog over the next few days!
Finding the energy to dedicate time to exercise is hard enough, let alone go ahead and break a sweat at the gym but exercise is one of the best methods for improving your mood and tackling anxiety head on. Exercise doesn’t even have to be the difficult kind either, it can be as simple as taking the dog for a walk, going to the park with the kids and play along or going to a yoga class once each week.
Personally I go to the gym and I find this works best for me. For me, there’s nothing quite like going for a run on the treadmill or lifting heavy weights to kick my anxiety in the butt! The good news is that after all the hard work, your brain releases endorphins which naturally make you feel better, and boy does it work! The buzz I feel after a workout is one of the things I look forward to the most! So, exercise definitely makes my top 10, and it ought to be worked into yours! Plus you lose weight, tone up, build muscle and feel great!
What more could you want out of an activity?
So yes it may be cliché but I believe that exercise is possibly one of the best ways to beat anxiety that ought to be in your toolbox!
